A mission for security and transparency
When the Räddningstjänsten Östra Götaland was to produce its annual report for 2024, Byn was commissioned to create a publication that not only reports figures and results – but also tells the story of a year filled with change, social responsibility and faith in the future.
The form is based on the Räddningstjänstens existing graphic profile (developed by Byn), but was developed to create a modern and robust feel. Clear typographic hierarchies, strong contrasts and airy layouts make the content easily accessible, even when it concerns complex topics such as finance, governance and safety work.
The photographs – taken by Crelle Photography, David Einar and Magnus Andersson – show people in the business, in collaboration and in action – always with a focus on safety, competence and presence. By combining a documentary feel with graphic rigour, we want to create an annual report that both engages and inspires trust.
The layout is modular to create rhythm between heavy text sections, documentary photos and financial data. The sustainability report was integrated with the annual report, with special sections on climate impact, gender equality and social sustainability.
The result was an annual report that reflects the Räddningstjänsten Östra Götaland core values – help is close at hand – and that communicates both responsibility and faith in the future in an accessible way. A report that is as much about numbers as it is about people, community benefit and cooperation.
